Slow Fashion
"Our aim is to make thoughtful, ethical and informed choices at every step of the way..."
Materials
We embrace natural materials and use linen, unbleached and organic cottons for our quilted pieces, all of which are Oeko-Tex certified. We mostly choose to work with linen as it's simply one of the most sustainable materials available without compromising on appearance, quality and comfort.
Leather
Our leather collection uses traditional Italian vegetable tanned leathers, which come from the heart of Tuscany. Whilst vegetable tanning can be a more expensive process, it takes up to 60 days to tan using traditional techniques which go back hundreds of years, we prefer it to alternative, chemical tanning practises more widely used. We are passionate that nothing beats the character and patina that comes with naturally tanned leather and it truly offers a product that, if cared for can last many lifetimes.
British Manufacturing
We only work with the highest skilled artisans, makers and creatives based here, in the UK. Always mindful of our carbon footprint we support local talent where we can..in fact we can actually walk to our clothing factory.
Packaging
From our packing boxes and tissue paper, our our mailing 'potato sacks', we only use materials that are biodegradable and contain as many re-cycled elements as possible. Even our business cards and swing tickets are made from re-cycled t-shirts.
Washing
All of our quilted pieces can be (cool) machine washed at 30 degrees. We avoid making gaments that rely on chemical dry cleaning processes.
Community Matters
We are especially proud to work with 'Stitches in Time', a local, social enterprise which supports marginalised women into work and offers a safe space to gather and learn new skills. They make all of dustbags, used for our leather totes and have recently collaborated with us on our latest collection of Quilt Pouches.
